Person engulfed in flames outside New York courthouse amid Trump’s Criminal trial


NEW DELHI: A person was engulfed in fire outside New York court house amid Former US President Donald Trump’s hush money trial on Friday.
Emergency responders swiftly evacuated the individual on a stretcher after extinguishing the flames. Eyewitnesses saw the person lying on the ground, engulfed in fire. Quick-thinking bystanders rushed to help, using fire extinguishers and providing assistance.
The man walked into the park across the street from the courthouse, throwing flyers into the air, a senior law enforcement official told CNN.He then pulled something out of a backpack — it was not immediately clear what the item was — and lit himself on fire, the official said.
Just minutes before this incident, a full jury of 12 people and six alternates had been selected for Trump’s trial, marking a significant step toward the trial’s opening statements.
The New York courthouse was already under tight security due to Trump’s presence, faced heightened tension following the fiery incident.
